The fellowship will take place from 9–20 November 2026 and is designed to support journalists covering one of the world’s most important climate events. To be eligible for the COP31 CCMP Reporting Fellowship 2026, applicants must:
- Be a journalist from an eligible low- or middle-income country
- Have previous experience reporting on climate change, environmental issues, or climate policy
- Be available to attend the entire conference in Antalya
- Possess strong English communication skills
- Submit a support letter from an editor, producer, supervisor, or media organization
- Provide a short video outlining their proposed COP31 coverage plan
- Submit at least three recent climate-related work samples
